Carloforte Tonnare produces bluefin tuna belly in oil. This tuna, the only one caught and canned in Carloforte’s ancient tuna factory, is genuine Thunnus thynnus di corsa, meaning it’s caught at the best time of year for its meat. Belly has been considered the most prized part of the tuna for centuries and is obtained from the flesh covering the belly cavity. These delicate and flavorful parts of the tuna are carefully preserved in extra virgin olive oil and high-quality salt, which preserves their unique Mediterranean flavor.
