Carloforte Tonnare produces buzzonaglia made from bluefin tuna caught and canned in Carloforte’s historic tuna factory. Bluefin tuna, a warm-blooded fish, pumps blood through muscles known as “buzzonaglia,” which have a rich blood supply. This gives these parts of the tuna an extraordinary tenderness and a more intense flavor than regular tuna in oil. With its more vibrant flavor, buzzonaglia can be served as a complement to your tasty appetizers.
